Evaluation of the WWU GK-12 Catalysts for Reform
program is documenting information about the Fellows
and Teachers entering the program, assessing the
professional development and related activities
of the grant, and capturing outcomes of the program
for Fellows, Teachers, participating schools and
WWU. Lisa Bryce Lewis, LBL Educational Consulting,
is coordinating the overall program evaluation,
collecting, summarizing, and analyzing evaluation
data. Fellows and Teachers contribute formative
writing, respond to surveys, participate in entry/exit
interviews, and open their classrooms to visitations
by GK-12 staff.
WWU's Catalysts for Reform seeks to achieve the
following major goals: Improve the teaching and
communication skills of WWU science graduate students;
enhance the science learning experiences of middle
school students; strengthen partnerships between
WWU and the GK-12 districts; and, contribute evidence-based
outcomes to the learning and teaching knowledge
base.
